KAMIYO Episode 29: The Birth of Oyamatsumi-no-Kami — The Majestic Peak Piercing the Heavens, the Guardian of Life

Prologue: The Saturated Sea of Trees and the Thirst for the Next "Order"

Due to the fierce explosion of life by Kukunochi-no-Kami (the God of Trees), Oyashimakuni (The Great Eight Islands) was entirely covered in a dense "primordial sea of trees" where not even sunlight could reach.

Crushing rocks, devouring sand, the ferocious green vitality multiplied endlessly horizontally.

It was certainly a powerful breath of great nature, but at the same time, it was a harsh and suffocating arena of survival, endlessly competing for light and water upon the flat earth.

"The life of trees is robust. But if the forest becomes too dense on the flat earth, eventually the weak lives will be crushed, and the world will stagnate," Izanagi murmured quietly, looking down at the thick roots intertwined so tightly there was no room to step.

"Yes. We must give 'height' and 'depth' to this endless green wave, building tiers where lives can rest respectively. An existence that towers to the heavens and majestically embraces everything..." Izanami also looked out over the saturating green sea, drawing a vision of the next creation.

From a two-dimensional world to a three-dimensional world.

The two creator gods gently touched each other's hands, overlapping their deep love and prayers.

Chapter 1: The Communion of Love, the Giant Uplift of the Earth

"My wife. Let us lift the rock that is the earth's skeleton, and the soil of bounty, high into the heavens together."

"Yes, my husband. With our love, let us build a great wall to protect life."

Izanagi's heroic power and Izanami's deep compassion, vast as the sea, perfectly merged into one.

The wave of the two gods' love became an intense divine spirit, seeping deep into the crust of Oyashimakuni, awakening the slumbering energy of the earth quietly, yet on an overwhelming scale.

Rumblllle...

It was not a rough, destructive tremor like an earthquake.

It was a solemn and heavy "uplift," as if the earth itself were taking a deep breath toward the heavens.

Various parts of the flat earth, along with the giant primordial forests resting upon them, slowly began to lift toward the heavens.

Giant masses of rock piercing the clouds and pressing toward the firmament, and the green sea of trees covering them.

Multiple giant folds were born, and the earth acquired an unprecedented three-dimensional expression—the absolute majesty of "mountain ranges."

Chapter 2: The Manifestation of the Mountain God, Oyamatsumi-no-Kami

The summit of the most gigantic peak in Oyashimakuni, towering so high it seemed to tear the sky.

At that sacred summit where a sea of clouds spread, a robust male god revealed his form alongside a dazzling light.

He was the majestic god of mountains, looking down upon all creation and unifying all the lands.

It was the birth of Oyamatsumi-no-Kami.

The robes he wore were "lush green mountain robes," weaving together the breath of the deep forest and the heavy solemnity of rock.

His physique was robust like a boulder, exuding an overwhelming presence as if the unwavering "strength of the earth" had been forced directly into human form.

In his powerful eyes, the resolve of an absolute guardian quietly burned, swearing to eternally protect the countless lives spreading at his feet.

"Oh... look at that heroic and reliable figure!"

Izanagi and Izanami looked up at the majestic figure of their child towering above the clouds, both showing expressions of deep joy.

Controlling the raging explosion of life, embracing everything in his large bosom—he was truly the strong god of absolute fatherhood they had been waiting for.

Chapter 3: The Pillar Connecting Heaven and Earth, the Dwelling of Life

Oyamatsumi-no-Kami quietly looked down at his parents at the foot of the mountain from the summit, and with a heavy yet warm voice, awaited their command.

Izanami, wearing a smile of sheer joy, spoke toward the heavens in a beautifully echoing voice.

"Oyamatsumi-no-Kami, please become a high mountain and act as a pillar connecting heaven and earth."

Receiving his mother's wish, Oyamatsumi-no-Kami quietly nodded.

Mountains are the places closest to the heavens on earth. They are the sacred boundaries where gods descend, and they are none other than the great "pillars of life" connecting heaven and earth to summon clouds, make rain fall, and create rivers to moisten the earth.

Following this, Izanagi commanded in a powerful, majestic voice.

"And become a dwelling for many lives."

At his father's words, Oyamatsumi-no-Kami powerfully spread both his arms.

The plants that had been competing for light on the flat earth, given the "height" and "depth" of the mountain slopes, found places suited to their respective natures—sunny spots, shady spots, watersides, and rocky areas—and began to segregate their habitats.

The beasts, too, found safe valleys and caves, beginning to nurture their lives using the mountain as an absolute "cradle."

Chapter 4: The Vow of the Grand Guardian

"Father, Mother. I, Oyamatsumi, shall become the pillar of Oyashima, and eternally embrace all life within this green bosom."

Oyamatsumi-no-Kami's low, echoing vow rode the wind, becoming the rumbling of the mountain, transmitting to all the connected peaks.

As long as he remains enshrined, no matter what violent storms rage, the mountain will not collapse, and pure spring water will continue to pour onto the earth without end.

In later eras, this Oyamatsumi-no-Kami would gather immense faith from humans as the "Great Lord of the Mountains."

They would enter the mountains to receive blessings, look up at the mountains to worship the god, and learn the ways to live alongside nature.

Chapter 5: A Three-Dimensional World Where Diverse Life Breathes

The birth of the mountain god. An existence appeared that gave height and depth to the islands, providing a dwelling for diverse life.

The previously flat Oyashimakuni obtained heaven-piercing height and the bottomless depth of deep valleys through the birth of Oyamatsumi-no-Kami.

The climate became complex, the changing of the seasons became more vivid, and the world began to overflow with unprecedented diverse colors and the brilliance of life.

The towering green giant peaks.

In the eyes of Izanagi and Izanami looking up at them, there was deep emotion and pride that this country, once a chaotic sea, was approaching completion as "beautiful great nature" in the truest sense.
