IRO in OSAKA — October 2026

OSAKA, JAPAN / OCTOBER 2026
POINT OF VIEW — IRO
ARCHIVE RECORD — 2026.10 / OSAKA / IRO

PROLOGUE

JIN is no longer here.

When IRO arrived in Osaka, she did not find him.

What remained were only traces — faint impressions scattered across the city.

An airfield.
An empty hangar.
A vacant room.
The streets at night.
The water.

The more she follows the places he may have passed through, the more clearly she begins to understand something she had not wanted to accept.

Waiting will never be enough.

Osaka is not the city where they reunite.

It is the city where IRO chooses to move.

This is the record of the moment she stops waiting for JIN to return and decides to cross the world in search of him herself.

This is where their long journey truly begins.

ACT I

THE CITY AFTER JIN

01 — AFTERGLOW ARRIVAL

[ARTWORK — IRO / OSAKA AIRFIELD / SUNSET]

Dusk in Osaka.

The first thing Iro saw after stepping off the small plane was not Jin.

It was the sky, left behind after he had already flown away.

They might have been in the very same spot just moments ago.

But now, there was no way to measure the distance between them.

Iro gazed toward the far end of the runway.

She did not yet know.

That in a distant city far away, Jin, too, was searching for her in the very same way.

I thought I had made it in time.
But you are already gone.
Only the afterglow remains.

02 — THE WARMTH LEFT BEHIND

[ARTWORK — IRO / EMPTY HANGAR]

The hangar was silent.

There were no planes.

JIN was not there, either.

All that remained on the vast floor was an inexplicable warmth—a lingering trace suggesting that someone had been there just moments before.

IRO stopped walking in the empty space.

It was a void, yet not an absolute one.

There are things that remain only after a person has left.

And sometimes, that very absence evokes a person’s presence more powerfully than their physical form ever could.

You are not here.
And yet, I know you were.
I feel you most in the places you have left behind.

OSAKA MISSION 01

SHADOWS OF OSAKA

[ARTWORK — IRO / OSAKA BACKSTREETS / KUNOICHI]

Night has fallen over Osaka.

Yet, IRO does not walk the brightly lit main streets.

She moves through back alleys, away from prying eyes.

Narrow lanes.

Dark passages leading toward the waterways.

A lone kunoichi moves silently through a city where countless shadows intersect.

What she pursues is not a target.

It is a faint, lingering trace left behind by JIN.

Her first mission in Osaka was not one of theft.

It was a mission to gather the fragments of a vanished presence.

Your presence still lingers in this city.
If I was too late, I will follow.
This time, I’m coming for you.

03 — THE EMPTY ROOM

[ARTWORK — IRO / OSAKA HOTEL ROOM]

IRO arrives at the room.

There is no concrete proof that JIN was here.

A large window.

An empty chair.

A single cup.

That is all.

Yet, IRO remains motionless before the window for a long while.

Did JIN, too, look out at Osaka from this very window?

The same city.

The same sky.

Different times.

All that remains between the two who never met is that small point of overlap.

Did you look at this same view?
If you did, perhaps I have touched
a small piece of your time.

04 — TRACES IN THE NIGHT

[ARTWORK — IRO / OSAKA WINDOW / NIGHT]

Beyond the window, Osaka moves on just as always.

Countless lights.

Roads.

Distant buildings.

The world appears complete, lacking nothing.

Yet for IRO, one person is missing.

It is not the nightscape she is gazing at.

It is JIN—who ought to be out there somewhere.

The person she cannot find anywhere in the city feels, instead, as though he is spread across the entire city.

Perhaps you are nowhere left in this city.
Still, I want to remain here
for one more night.

OSAKA MISSION 02

THE SILENT BLADE

[ARTWORK — IRO / SHINSEKAI / TSUTENKAKU]

Osaka’s Shinsekai district.

The Tsutenkaku Tower stands tall above the streets where countless people come and go.

Beneath it, IRO alone stood motionless, as if existing in a different flow of time.

Speed is not the only thing required of a pursuer.

If one allows impatience to take control, one might overlook the very small clues left behind.

That is why IRO does not rush.

Observing quietly.

Thinking quietly.

And never losing sight of the one place where he truly needs to go.

I move in silence.
If I let haste take over, I may miss what matters.
I see only the path that leads to you.

ACT II

THE MOMENT WAITING ENDS

05 — THE DECISION

[ARTWORK — IRO / AIRFIELD / SUNSET]

IRO returns to the airfield once more.

It is the same spot where she first arrived in Osaka.

Yet, she is no longer the same IRO.

At first, she had believed JIN was here.

Now, she knows the truth.

He is not here.

And one thing has become clear.

As long as she simply waits, the distance between them will never change.

There is no need for JIN to come back.

She can simply go to him.

What lies beyond the runway at dusk is not JIN himself.

It is the world that leads to him.

You will not return simply because I wait.
Then I will go to you.
The answer was simple all along.

ACT III

LEAVING OSAKA

06 — THE NIGHT BEFORE DEPARTURE

[ARTWORK — IRO / OSAKA / CAR TO AIRPORT]

The streets of Osaka drift past the train window.

This is the same scenery I gazed at the day I arrived, searching for JIN.

Now, I watch it as a city I am leaving behind.

IRO does not look back.

I did not find JIN in Osaka.

Yet, it was not as if I gained nothing.

In this city, I cast aside the option of simply waiting.

All that remains is the determination to move forward.

I did not find you here.
But that does not mean I have lost you.
I only need to reach the next city.

07 — LEAVING OSAKA

[ARTWORK — IRO / AIRPORT BOARDING BRIDGE]

White walls.

A long, stretching boarding bridge.

Red emergency lights glowing at regular intervals.

The sounds of the Osaka night can no longer be heard.

IRO walks alone toward the plane.

The city awaiting her is Hong Kong.

The place where JIN is right now.

The distance between them is still vast.

Yet, from this moment on, that distance is no longer left to fate.

It becomes a distance that IRO herself will close.

I am going where you are.
Not simply arriving after you again.
This time, I will close the distance.

08 — ABOVE THE CLOUDS

[ARTWORK — IRO / AIRCRAFT / CLOUDS]

Osaka is moving away.

Outside the window, the clouds continue forever.

I can't see cities, roads, or borders.

I don't even know how far away Jin is.

Still, the IRO will move forward.

I'm no longer just looking at the traces he left behind.

I'm looking at the person who's on the other side.

From this point on, IRO's journey ceased to be a "travel in pursuit of the past."

It was a journey towards the future.

No matter how far apart we are,
I know which direction I must go.
Toward you.

09 — UNDER THE SAME NIGHT

[ARTWORK — IRO / NIGHT FLIGHT / MOON]

A night in the sky.

A slender moon floats beyond the window.

JIN is gazing at that same moon from somewhere else.

Neither of them knows it yet.

That they are searching for one another.

That they are gradually moving in the same direction.

IRO has left Osaka.

And the story shifts to the next city.

HONG KONG.

If we are looking at the same moon,
that is enough for tonight.
Next, the same city.

THE TURNING POINT

OSAKA — WHERE THE PURSUIT BEGAN

IRO did not find JIN in Osaka.

But perhaps what she found here was more important than the reunion itself.

Until Osaka, IRO was still waiting for JIN to appear somewhere in her world.

The IRO who leaves Osaka is different.

She searches.

She chooses.

She crosses the world herself.

The journey following the shadow JIN left behind truly begins here.

Osaka is not the city where they reunited.

It is the city where IRO chose to go after him.

For that reason, Osaka in October 2026 will remain the first major turning point in the long story of JIN and IRO.
